NEWS: THE STAR - STAMPS TO MARK YEAR OF THE RABBIT

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia is celebrating the Year of Rabbit with a new stamp collection.The limited edition collection with the theme “Children’s Pets” would also feature cats and dogs, which would be sold at 80sen and RM1 respectively. The rabbit stamps cost 60sen.A miniature sheet in the shape of an old Chinese coin which features a rabbit in the middle of the coin would also be sold at RM5. The first day covers cost 30sen.

“We will be officially launching the stamp collection on Jan 18 at the National Museum,” said Pos Malaysia head of stamp and philately Yasmin Ramli during a press conference at its headquarters here yesterday.

Pos Malaysia group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Faisal Albar said this year’s collection was meant to instil a sense of responsibility, caring and affection towards other beings.

Collectors would be able to purchase the whole set comprising the stamps, miniature sheet, first day covers and a folder for RM61.50.

KUALA LUMPUR: Usaha menarik minat kanak-kanak mengumpul setem dan menyayangi haiwan cuba dipupuk Pos Malaysia Berhad menerusi setem pertama 2011 yang bertemakan Haiwan Peliharaan Kanak-Kanak.

Setem berkenaan menampilkan tiga jenis haiwan pilihan kanak-kanak seperti arnab, kucing dan anjing setiap satu di jual 60 sen, 80 sen dan RM1. Selain itu, bagi menyemarakkan sambutan Tahun Baru Cina kali ini, buat julung kalinya Pos Malaysia menghasilkan Lembaran Mini berbentuk syiling Cina lama, merah dengan teknik ‘gold-stamping’ di tepi lembaran yang dijual dengan harga RM5.
Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan/Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Pos Malaysia, Datuk Syed Faizal Albar berkata, pihaknya sentiasa memastikan koleksi setem bukan saja unik, malah membawa pengajaran kepada masyarakat.
