NIGERIA: STAMPS ON PALM OIL

Nigeria is on the West Coast of Africa, where over 250 different languages are spoken including English.

Nigeria and West Africa used to be the center of the palm oil industry but in the 1870s, British administrators took the plant to Malaysia. Most palm oil in Nigeria is still produced by smallholders.

Palm oil is an essential ingredient for Nigerian cuisine, and is also used in household goods like soap.
